Position: Lead Facilitator

Hours: 20 hours per week (must be available afternoon & evenings)
Salary: $25.00/hour
Term: Temporary, Part-time
September 8, 2026 - December 18, 2026 with possibility of extension

Ignite Youth Centre (NPYSA) has been in operation since 1993 and has been a lifeline for many area youth. Ignite provides direct programming in the areas of art, wellness, life skills and more to youth ages 12-17. We engage in projects designed to engage the youth to volunteer and give back. We strive to create an environment that allows youth to develop skills and self esteem in a supportive, fun, and inclusive environment.
Ignite Youth Centre is seeking a Lead Facilitator. The successful candidate will facilitate afternoon and evening programming, support co-facilitators and complete data collection tasks as defined in the description below.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
The duties for this position include: facilitation, co-facilitation, supervision, data collection, support of volunteers and capturing content for social media. The successful candidate must be available to work weeknights in accordance with the shifts listed below.
Facilitate and co-facilitate evening programming
Tuesday - Friday 2:15 pm - 8:15 pm (6 hours with 1 hour unpaid break). Program hours 3:30-5 pm and 6-8 pm
Support guest and co-facilitators in set-up/cleanup of the centre and supervision
Prepare snacks for each program in accordance with safe food handling practices (training provided)
Light cleaning and end of day wrap up of the centre
Ensure proper maintenance of youth centre equipment (including audio-visual, instruments and program specific supplies).
Distribute, ensure completion and compile all official forms such as registration, attendance, surveys and evaluation forms. Will become familiar with program manual and agency policies especially regarding Code of Ethics, Professionalism, Privacy and Confidentiality
Capture photographs/videos of programs and activities suitable for use in social media in accordance with Privacy policy and
Qualifications:
Experience working with youth in a group setting an asset
Must be familiar with a variety of social media platforms and able to create content suitable for sharing (photo, video, etc.)
Excellent organizational, planning, time-management skills and the ability to work independently
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Familiarity with Google Workspace an asset
Clear vulnerable Sector Criminal Record Check mandatory
Clear Children’s Services Intervention Check mandatory
Additional qualifications preferred:
18+ years of age and have not attended Ignite programming as a participant within 2 years
Standard First Aid Certificate an asset
Crisis intervention and communication an asset
ASIST (suicide intervention) training an asset
Must become familiar with organization policies and procedures
